The digital revolution is fundamentally changing the way we live, work and connect with each other. Innovative technologies are disrupting and transforming all industries. They also provide opportunities to deliver social and economic benefits for our region and communities.

Since the adoption of the Smart City Framework (SCF) in December 2016, council has begun to digitise external systems to build our capacity and capability as a digital region.

Council is delivering smart city services to the region based on five areas:

  1. Early and regular contribution to plans, strategies, policies and projects

  2. Refine and prioritise ideas into solutions

  3. Provide specialised services

  4. Deploy specifications into standards

  5. Specify enabling smart infrastructure.
