Annual Report 2025
2025 marked a pivotal year for the Australian Smart Communities Association as we strengthened our foundations and accelerated our impact.
A key focus was enhancing member engagement through dedicated service partners who transformed our communication ecosystem and deepened relationships with our community. We introduced Member Meetups in Melbourne, Brisbane, and Sydney, delivered seven webinars on critical topics including AI adoption and data storytelling, and conducted comprehensive Member Engagement Sessions that directly informed our new ASCA 2030 Strategy.
Our events program reached 140 attendees across webinars and meetups, while we supported our largest-ever Smart City Expo World Congress delegation in Barcelona. ASCA continued leading in standards development, with President James Sankar receiving the IEC 1906 Standards Australia Award.
Key initiatives included launching the InsightWise AI pilot with local governments, releasing the Accelerating Smarter Development report, and delivering thought leadership on data literacy and placemaking. This year's achievements position ASCA as Australia's trusted voice for smart, sustainable, and inclusive communities—leaving no one behind.
